Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java/Scala Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Kafka and distributed systems to lead the development of high-performance, enterprise-scale applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on technical background in Java, Scala, Kafka, and microservices, along with proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Design and develop scalable applications using Java, Scala, and Spring Boot.
- Architect and support Kafka-based event-driven systems.
- Lead development of enterprise microservices and distributed applications.
- Drive technical design, code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams.
- Participate in system design, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Manage project delivery, priorities, and technical initiatives.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Scala.
- Strong expertise in Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and REST APIs.
- Proven people/team management or technical leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
Preferred Skills
- Financial services / banking experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Kubernetes/OpenShift experience.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- SQL/NoSQL database experience.
